   I’m starting to figure out that CBT and ball busting are pretty much my favorite activities (at least this month, I do change my mind often!). I only ever take it to a certain point though, because I’m cautious about safety.    Mistress Tara, I most frequently use my bare hands, nails or various electrical devices that range in sensation from sensual to sadistical..from squeezing to pinching to punching…then there is always the range of medical toys;)
   The concerns are breaking veins and truly busting a testicle open. You also have to watch for fainting, which is common during heavy ball play… especially if the subbie is in vertical bondage and on Viagra. Fainting that is not prepared for, can result in nasty injuries and/or harm to the Domme too.

    Duane, well through trial and error I have learned many valuable lessons about taking care of myself. I find removing myself from my kink world at least once a day is crucial to maintaining my love for it. I also find I need to “feed my head” with non kink related aesthetics, art, ideas, science, people, travel, books, film… several times a week. It keeps me a whole person and ironically its in the vanilla world where I often find my real inspirations for my craft as a Domme.

    I am responsible for a playspace that many people count on for their livelihoods. I am beginning to think I am the new National Endowment for the Arts (wink) Many of the women I have rented space to have completed advanced degrees or created works of art as a direct result of being able to work in my special “rental model”. I have learned to become very picky about who I can support these days. I know when I retire I will have to take into account the impact it will have on many people not just myself and my clients.

    I also have made some choices about which requirements I can adhere to and which are just no longer realistic. The Icon of Dominatrix is not realistic. No one can embody it all. Trying will kill you. I have come to prioritize my skills, equipment, humor, discretion tactics and ethics… over my wardrobe, appearance and wiliness to do any scene that pays the bills. It is working out wonderfully for my sanity, love of my art and my getting bills paid. I do regret the days in which I tried to do and be it all, all the time. I don’t get into great feats of self-promotion these days. I would rather go to Rome and learn something new then attend a fetish event designed to promote Prodommes. I am just an aging eccentric genius pervert..with more toys that anyone else in my area!

    Amy, yes breath play is risky no matter how skilled you are or how healthy the bottom is. It may be the number one most risky form of play there is. You ask a very hard question. I like that about you:) It is impossible to know if the person you are talking with is actually doing anything dangerous or not..so it puts you in an awkward position to judge your level of responsibility.

    I would not encourage any play with various types of nooses in suspension. Maybe just loose dry-cleaning bags that cling to the face on inhalation…. and expand on exhale and allow air in again? Gasmasks can be safer ways for people to play alone too. Do not encourage them to seal this with duct tape, because should they pass out no one is there to rip it open.

    Another question came to mind today while I was pissing on a new sub for the 5th time in one hour. I was staring at the piss-pads on the floor and this just popped into my head:
